Hello Innovation Honored By 18th Annual Webby Awards

Posted in: Lifestyle

The Hello Innovation team is super stoked to announce that our website has been honored for Best Aesthetic Visual Design in the 18th Annual Webby Awards!

But before you jump out of your chair and do a celebratory dance with us, let’s take a look at what exactly the Webby Awards are...

What are the Webby Awards?

Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by The New York Times, The Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS)  and are  the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Judges for the IADAS include some pretty kick ass people like Kevin Spacey, Arianna Huffington, Skype CEO Tony Bates, Mozilla CEO and Chair Mitchell Baker, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, and even the inventor of the mobile phone, Martin Cooper.

The Hello Innovation website was put to the test in visual design against websites from all 50 U.S. states and over 60 countries worldwide. With less than 15% of the entries being selected, we consider it to be a HUGE achievement to be an official honoree.

"Honorees like Hello Innovation are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. "It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 12,000 entries we received this year."

Hello Innovation is proud to be a part of the elite group of past Webby Award winners like Twitter, Google, Pinterest, Skype and The Onion.

So how did we create a website that stood out from the crowd?

According to Ignacio Giri, Hello Innovation’s Art Director at our satellite office in Argentina/offshore Art Director, "We had to find inspiration outside the Internet. We wanted to create something that nobody has seen before”.

From ideation to production, we knew the Hello Innovation website would be something special. In fact, according to Vorrel Prendergast, the Director of Design at Hello Innovation, it’s what we set out to do. “Hello Innovation is a fairly new brand and we wanted our site to portray who we are, how we think and what it's like to work here. We set out to create a website that is as unique as our culture,” he said.

“We knew it was going to be a challenge to design and develop, but those are the kinds of challenges that push you to do great work. Round after round of creative explorations, we finally hit on a design aesthetic that made us all excited. We knew we were on to something,” Vorrel explains.

The best part is we’re just getting started...

Like most design-driven companies, our work here is never finished. We’re truly amazed by the results our hard work and effort resulted in, but we still strive to make it better. It’s part of our company’s core values, “good is the enemy of the great”. That's why we will continuously work to improve HelloInnovation.com in every way possible.

“It’s our sandbox... we use the Hello Innovation website to find new ways to communicate our ideas and beliefs with the world in a visual and technical way,” said Vorrel.
