Every employee in Officeville had passion (a lot)...

But the Grinch, who lived just north of Officeville, did NOT!

The Grinch hated passion! The whole “happy” office culture!

Now, please don’t ask us why. It would only be torture.​​

 

It could be that his cubicle walls were a little too tall

It could be, perhaps, that his stuffy suit was too small

But I think the most likely reason could be,

he didn’t know a job he loved could set him free.

 

For the Grinch sat at work during every long, dragged out meeting

trying to find a way to get out in a moment of fleeting.

Then one day the Grinch passed by the office of Hello Innovation,

where everyone had freedom, awesome co-workers and tons of vacation.

The grinch stared through the windows with a look of surprise

at all the happy employees with a sparkle of passion in their eyes.

 

“They’re swapping innovative ideas and having fun!” he said with despair,

“they’re standing up during meetings, there’s not even one in a chair!”

Their casual environment, the agile process, the laughs!

But how could they all be happy AND working, this staff?

 

Then he got an idea! A crazy idea!

This unpassionate Grinch got a wonderfully devious idea!

What if I, the Grinch, visited H-I?

Then I could find out what makes the employees’ performance sky high!

 

So the Grinch took off his silly black suit.

and put on comfortable clothes that didn’t make him look like a snoot

He walked up to the Hello Innovation office, and opened the door…

The Grinch had no idea what would be in store.

 

The Grinch came from the outside, and found his way in.

Which is often how many of us also begin.

He stepped out from the elevator and saw instructions on how to breakdance,

then walked into the office to find happy employees giving him a glance.

 

When the workday began, he heard a noise he simply must hear,

the sounds of espresso brewing, laughter, and even the opening of a beer.

He stared around the office. The Grinch popped open his eyes!

Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise!

Every employee wasn’t chained to their desk,

staring at their tasks for their day as if they were grotesque.

 

There was no cubicle farm, no sign of a bored, unhappy employee,

in fact the office was full of people doing work they actually enjoy.

So the Grinch stood puzzling and thought “How could it be so?”

How could everyone be comfortable laughing with their CEO, Joe?

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!

Maybe these employees have found a career that isn’t a bore!

“Maybe doing what you love is what life is all about!” he swore.

 

And what happened then? Well…in Officeville they say,

The the Grinch sat down with the CEO and discovered the career he loved that day.

And the minute he found he was doing the very thing he loved,

The Grinch saw his productivity, happiness and life soar way above.
